Stephen Chappell, an oral English teacher of ATC, recently acted as a judge in an English Song Competition at NO.3 Middle School in Anqing City . There were 24 contestants from Grade Senior One. Most of the songs were contemporary western tunes popular among Chinese youth. All the participants were awarded certificates for their efforts and the event was filmed by Anqing Television for later broadcast. Stephen was not only one of the judges but also sang two songs, one in English and the other in Chinese. The school hopes that Stephen can return in the fall to take part in another activity. It's a great way for the foreign teacher, as well as our university, to have a greater presence in the community.
