Prof. Hao Tugen Finished Academic Exchange in Augsburg College

Augsburg College , located in Minneapolis of Minnesota, USA , is the first overseas cooperative institution of ATC. The two colleges started cooperation since 2006, including delegation visit, faculty exchange and so on.
Invited by Augsburg College , Prof. Hao Tugen, Dean of School of Foreign Languages, arrived at Minneapolis at January 6, 2010, to start four month's academic exchange. During his stay in USA , Prof. Hao, as visiting scholar, observed three literature classes, which areAmerican Literature, English Novels,andEnvironmental Literature. He has also continued his own research on British novelist Thomas Hardy with the resources at Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota 's Wilson Library. Prof. Hao also taught Chinese language to students and faculty of Augsburg College . Prof. Hao also held several lectures for students, to introduce the difference of undergraduates and system between US and China . His hard and efficient work was recognized by Augsburg College , and he was invited to attend all events with the faculty.
Apart from academic activities, Prof. Hao has been in close contact with Foreign Affairs Office of ATC, with the hope of taking advantage his visit to enlarge cooperation field with American cooperative institutions. During his four months' stay, Prof. Hao took active role to negotiate with the leadership of Augsburg College . On behalf of ATC, he invited the President of Augsburg College to visit ATC in 2011, to put forward the students exchange program. Prof. Hao also visited Bethel University at April, with Dr. Song Hongzhuan, honorary director of International Exchange Centre, to discuss the next cooperation program with vice president.
After getting back to ATC, Prof. Hao will give lectures to students and faculty, to introducing his research results and discussing the undergraduates and universities' differences between China and US.
