Nov. 12, 2009, accompanied by Ms. Yao Xiaolei of Provincial Education Department, Mr. Grégory Wegmann, Education Consul of French General Consulate in Shanghai and Ms. Chen Youyao visited our college.

Prof. Zhu Shiqun, deputy president of ATC, held a meeting with Mr. Grégory Wegmann, which was presided by Mr. Liu Youzhong, director of President's Office. Attendants included Prof. Hao Tugen, dean of School of Foreign Languages, Mr. Pan Kaiyan, deputy director of Foreign Affairs Office, all French teachers and Mr. Alexis ROUMEZI, the teacher from France. Prof. Zhu, on behalf of ATC, welcomed them and introduced our college's history, development and international cooperation with France. He also expressed the desire to strenghthen cooperation with France.

Mr. Grégory Wegmann thanked ATC's welcome. He said, as the newly appointed education consul, he needed to visit univeristies who have ties with France, and learn the cooperation situation and problems, and French major teaching situation.

Prof. Hao Tugen, dean of School of Foreign Languages, introduced French major situation. French teachers discussed French teaching with Mr. Grégory Wegmann. The consul said he would help us to solve some teaching problems, and he would ask his assistant to visit again for further discussion.

After the meeting, the consul joined the class teaching of French majors. The students' hard-working and study passion impressed him.

Then, the guests visited School of Huangmei Opera, enjoyed students' performance and talked with dean and teachers. The consul said he would contact several French universities to put forward our cooperation ties with France.
