May 19 th , 2009, Dr. Song Hongzhuan (Sam), president of ICED, came back to his Alma Mater for two days' academic activities, who is an adjunct professor and honorable director of International Exchange Center of ATC.

In the afternoon of May 20 th , Dr. Song gave a lecture, named “How to teach English effectively”, to the students of School of Foreign Languages .

He started from his own study experience and interest, and discussed three topics with students, which are “the definition of a good teacher”, “Do you love teaching” and “what kind of teacher influence student most”. After the discussion, he demonstrated the effective teaching method with Melvil Dewey's teaching theory and organizing skills of teaching.

In the morning of May 21 st , Dr. Song gave another lecture for the School of Education , named “Policy, Practice, Problem and Challenge of Normal Education in U.S”.

Dr. Song introduced the recent situation of American education, and pointed out its advantages, and then analyzed the evaluation standard of American normal education with the differences of China-USA education. He also emphasized the importance of general education and diversification for students.

In the two lectures, Dr. Song attracted the students with his wise, humorous explanation. His pride of his Alma Mater inspired the students to work harder and love ATC more.
