On October, 18th, the Opening Ceremony of Anqing Normal University 110-year Anniversary Celebration and the Second International Conference on Teacher Education was held in the stadium of Longshan campus. Mr. Wang Jinshan, Secretary of CPC of Anhui Provincial Committee, and Mr. Wang Sanyun, governor of Anhui province, present their calligraphy works for the 110-year Anniversary Celebration. The Ministry of Education, the CPC of Anhui Provincial Committee, the government of Anhui province, the government of Anqing city and overseas cooperative institutions all send congratulations letters.
Representatives of the Second Teacher Education International Conference, friends from all walks of life staffs and almost 10000 students present at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. Zhao Xiaohe, Party Secretary of ATC.
Mr. Xie Guangxiang, vice governor of Anhui province, gave an important speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that as the origin of Anhui higher education, Anqing Normal University always shoulder the responsibility of conveying civilization and promoting the development of economy and society. With all these years' efforts, Anqing Normal University has developed into an advanced college with complete courses, having trained large numbers of talents who made a significant contribution to the development of economy and society. He hoped that Anqing Normal University could further increase the sense of responsibility and mission, and then make bigger contribution to Anhui province' science and technology development and make the province a culturally advanced one. Finally, he stressed that under the strong leadership of the CPC of Anhui Provincial Committee and the provincial government, with the great support from the society and the endless effort of all staffs here, Anqing Normal University is certain to make wonderful achievements in the near future.
Mr. Song Yonggang, Deputy Director of Normal Department of Ministry of Education announced the congratulation letter from Ministry of Education.
Mr. Zhang Rongguo, Deputy Secretary of Education Department of CPC of Anhui Provincial Committee, gave an important speech. He said Anqing Normal University was the origin of Anhui higher education with a long history. 110 years has past away with generations, the level of teaching of ATC has improved rapidly. He hoped that Anqing Normal University would become larger and stronger in the near future.
Mr. Fang Chunming, Party Secretary of CPC of Bo Zhou city, as the alumnus representative, made an exciting remark with deep feelings towards his Alma Mater. He said that every one of us had been moistened by this college' sweet dew, showered by our beloved teachers' sweat, we shall remember this deep feeling forever, and we must work harder, making constant achievements to repay our Alma Mater's cultivation and care. He sincerely wished that our college can break new ground for the future, prosper with each passing day and make even bigger contributions to develop our province through science and technology and make Anhui a culturally advanced province.
Ms. Xiao Chaoying, Mayor of Municipal Government of Anqing, stressed that Anqing Normal University was the birthplace of provincial higher education. The special academic atmosphere and the profound historical culture could be traced back to the same origin. For time being, ATC made fully use of comprehensive subjects to offer a powerful intellectual support for the local economic and social development. Currently, Anqing is on a crucial phase of transcending and rising, it needs the college's support and participation. She hoped that our college could make further advantage of its resources and play more important role in combining research, production and study together, and transferring technology innovation and technological achievement. She also suggested that Anqing Government would put more emphasis on the construction of Anqing Normal University and they would actively create and optimize a better environment for ATC's development.
Mr. Song Naiqing, vice president of Southwest University, praised Anqing Normal University has already formed a special character of making liberal arts as the core subjects and cultivating students with culture. ATC had cultivated a great many of talents for China and made great contributions to the local economic and social development. He sent his sincere congratulations and thanks on holding the Second Teacher Education International Conference and establishing the National Teachers Education Association, on the basis of having successfully held the first International Conference.
Mr. O. Kutay Giiler, the representative of Dumlupinar University of Turkey, expressed the warm greetings and sincere wishes of Dumlupinar University to all the faculties of the college. He introduced the strong cooperation and communication between two sides. He expected to continue this beyond-boarder's cooperation and to deepen each other's reliance and friendship, making progress together in order to make further contributions to better development of both universities.
The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Zhao Xiaohe, Party Secretary of ATC. He thanked the long time care and support from lots of leaders and experts as well as all walks of life. During the Celebration of ATC's 110-year Anniversary, Ministry of Education, the CPC of Anhui Provincial Committee and the government of Anhui province all sent congratulating messages to the college. Today, Mr. Xie Guangxiang, vice governor of Anhui government province, Mr. Zhao Han, vice chairman of Anhui CCPCC, and Mr. Song Yonggang, Deputy Director of Normal Department of Ministry of Education visited the school by person and gave directions to the future work. They approved ATC's achievements and placed great expectations to the college's future construction and development. During the Celebration of 110-year Anniversary, we also feel honored to hold the Second Teacher Education International Conference and welcome all the domestic and overseas experts, which greatly improved and elevated our college's reputation. The congratulations made by all the leaders and guests are great encouragement and impetus for our college. We must take this 110-year Anniversary as an opportunity to continue spreading our fine traditions, making efforts in cultivating talents, scientific research and social services to gain more achievements.
Prof. Wang Qingsong, Vice Party Secretary and President of ATC, addressed on the conference. On behalf of all faculties, he welcomed the leaders, experts and alumnus who attended the celebration and international conference, and sincerely appreciated all personage in society and the units who paid attention and gave an aid to the college's construction and development, and also showed the greatest respect for the faculties who have devoted to the college's construction and development. He briefly reviewed the difficulties we met and the achievement we acquired during the three different periods of the 110 years. He emphasized that, Anqing Normal University is developing so rapidly mainly because of the highlight by Department of Education and provincial government, because of the instruction and support from provincial Department of Education and the municipal government, because of the attention by sistership colleges and universities and our alumnus, and the efforts made by all students and faculties. He insisted that, standing on the new historical starting point, Anqing Normal University would continually implement the scientific concept of development. We would focus on emancipating the mind and reform and innovation, and also make further use of teacher education priority so that we could promote the quality of construction and make a greater contribution to the development of teacher education in China .
