On August, 7 th , Dr. Brian Stiegler, director of international education center of Salisbury University , Dr. Aaron Basko, vice-president assistant, together with Dr.Sam Song, dean of English language institute, arrived at Anqing Normal University to discuss cooperation issues.
In the afternoon, ANU held a meeting with SU delegation, talking about the implement and expansion of cooperation. Vice –president of ANU, Dr. Zhang Qun attended the meeting, coupled with deans from other related departments. Hans, the deputy director of Foreign Affairs Office, presided the meeting. Mr. vice –president Zhang Qun delivered a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the ANU leadership, fully confirming the recognition of the achievements made since the establishment of brotherhood between the two sides.
He pointed out that it's the first year to initiate the 3+1 program conducted by both sides. It's exciting to witness the aspiring result with full enrollment of 60 students. It's a breakthrough for ANU and would eventually prompt the development and expansion of SU. Dr.Brian Stiegler from SU appreciated the efforts ANU made in the cooperation. He said it laid a solid foundation to promote the further cooperation between two sides based on mutual friendship and understanding.
SU delegation proposed 8 would-be cooperation programs like 3+1,2+2, master program, visiting scholar program and so on. In the meeting, the two sides discussed the programs in depth, reaching agreement on most of the issues. Respectively deans of Foreign Language School and Economic Management School of ANU discussed 3+1 and 2+2 programs with SU delegates in detail. The School of Humanity , Education and Music expressed their requests of inviting SU scholars to teach and the wishes to cooperate further.
On August, 8 th , Dr. Brian Stiegler met the representatives of exchange students and their parents.These students would soon come to study in SU and therefore SU delegates provided consultation on study, daily life and visa application. Students and their parents appreciated ANU for the good chance to meet SU teachers face to face. Their worries and confusion were cleared up by the communication with SU delegates. The students promised to take good use of the chance and work hard in SU.
On August, 9 th , the delegates accompanied by the staff of Foreign Affairs Office visited Ling Hu Campus and Long Shan Campus. They also visited the apartments for foreign teachers and exchange students from SU.
